I went from a beginner rod to this package in a few days. In one sitting, I was able to work up to an 11/12mm. The key is to go slowly and use a lot of lube. If it starts to hurt, withdraw slowly, add more lube, and slowly try again. I like the fact that there are 2 sizes to each sound. You can easily flip it over and try a bigger size.
